The first reunion meeting of 2011 was held tonight to discuss the planning and events for our next reunion scheduled for July 7, 2012. The following are some of the topics and items reviewed. As always we welcome your suggestions and most importantly, we welcome your talents in planning or chairing a committee.
1. Veteran's acknowledgement- we'd like to recognize our family who have been a part of the armed services is the USA. We'd like to use the military music of the different divisions and we are looking for a volunteer to put this together for us.
2. Power point presentaton - to help us recognize the families of the Orozco's, please take a family photo, identify the individuals in the photo and send it to orozcoreunions@hotmail.com. We will use all photos in our power point. If you'd like to share any other family events, you are more that welcome to send those as well. Please again, identify the members in the photo and let us know what branch of the family they are from.
3. T-Shirts : We'd like to have each branch of the family wear different color T-shirts, with the same reunion design, but we would like for it to tie in with our theme and of course decorations. If you have a suggestion for a theme, please send it to orozcoreunions@hotmail.com. Once we have set a theme, we plan to open up a contest to see who is the most creative graphic artist in the family. The contest will be to design the T-shirt decal. The winner will receive $50.00 for the decal selected. Please review the post regularly to see when the contest opens.
4. Funds: We need a chair person! Come on this can be fun. Fund raisers suggested can be garage sales, the silent auction and live auction at the reunion, etc. Please bring your talents forward and volunteer.
5. Family Altars - This has always been a significant part of our reunion and we'd like to continue the tradition. Each branch of the Orozco family is encouraged to decorate a family altar. It is through our faith in our God that our family has continued to come to together and share a day of reunion.
6. Good Job! If your are reading this blog, then you are already participating in our # 6 point. Please review the blog regularly and keep our family who do not have access to the blog updated and informed as plans come along.
7. Future meeting dates are through July 2011. We invite you to attend if you are in the Bryan/College Station area.
Meeting dates are as follows:
* April 5th - Rosa's Cafe and Tortilla Factory on University Drive
* May 3rd - On The Border - Texas Ave (This will be our Cinco de Mayo celebration)
* June 7th - Burger House - on South College in Bryan
* July 5th - Dairy Queen - on Villa Maria
All meeting times are at 6:00 pm
8. Save the date, make your vacation plans, July 7, 2012 is the reunion date!
9. Committee Chairperson needed for entertainment. This includes games and talent show.
10. Chairperson needed for meals. The focus of responsibility is to organize with the caterer, we suggest using Ricky's catering, organizing food throughout the day, ie, continental breakfast, chips and dips throughout the day, snacks, desserts, beverages, etc. In addition, we are also considering having snow cones.
11. Reviewing changing location from Somerville to Caldwell. Committee is currently looking at other locations.

As you can see there is lots to do in preparation of this day. Although the reunion is still a year and a half away, the better we are prepared the more everyone involved in planning can enjoy the event. We hope that you will consider being a part of the planning and definitely be a part of the day, July 7, 2012.
